Job summary

Busboys and Poets in Washington, DC is seeking passionate bartenders to join a fast-paced, guest-centric team. You will guide guests through menus, take accurate orders, and craft beverages while ensuring excellent service.

Must be at least 21, have prior full-service bartending experience, weekend availability, and be prepared to work multiple shifts; base pay is $10 an hour plus tips with a guaranteed earning range.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol.
• General alcohol knowledge needed.

Responsibilities

• Setting up the bar daily or during transition for the PM shift.
• Guiding guests through menus while demonstrating knowledge of items.
• Taking accurate orders and coordinating with staff to serve food and beverages.
• Check patrons' identifications to ensure legal drinking age.
• Mixing cocktails and coffee drinks.
• Delivering excellent customer service with a smile and timely check-ins.
• Assist in keeping the bar and surrounding areas clean and compliant with health regulations.
• Answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders and greeting guests as needed.
• Occasionally taking tables on the floor when bar service is slow or staffing is short.
