Job summary

Hotel Contessa on the San Antonio Riverwalk seeks a full-time Bartender to provide hospitable guest service, craft cocktails, and uphold service standards. You will work at a bar setup that supports efficient drink production, cash handling, and guest relations in a vibrant, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must communicate well with guests.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Basic mathematical skills for cash handling and making change.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to garnish, pick up glassware, and stock.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items.
• Operate keyboard and POS to pre-check orders and close checks.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces.
• Establish and maintain relationships with staff and guests.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Adapt communication style to audience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily.

• Greet guests, promote and document drink orders.
• Mix, garnish, and present drinks with standard recipes and portions.
• Abide by state, federal and corporate alcohol-service requirements.
• Process orders at POS and balance cash and vouchers.
• Lock and store beverage, food, and equipment; deposit cash.
• Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Position

FULLTIME BARTENDER: $12 PER HOUR PLUS TIPS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis.
• This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
• Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
• Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks.
• Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
• Abidebyall State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Inputsordersintoaregisteratthepointofsaleandcreatesacheckforeachguest,includingthoseservedbyotherbeverageservers,tomaintainaccountabilityofallbeveragesserved.
• Receivescashfromguests,makesanychangeneeded,verifiesvalidityofcharges,recordscharges,andensuresvouchersareproperlyexecuted,inordertobalanceallmoney.
• Locksandstoresallbeverage,foodandotherequipmentitems,depositscashdropsandsecuresbank.
• Complywithattendancerulesandbeavailabletoworkonaregularbasis.
• Performanyotherjob-relateddutiesasasssigned.
