Job summary

Wind Creek Hospitality in Wetumpka, AL seeks a Bartender to mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks at gaming machines and bar areas. The role requires knowledge of cocktails, strong guest service, and the ability to work 5:30pm–2:00am with some shift changes.

Responsibilities include taking orders, upselling, maintaining bar cleanliness, and accurate drink prep, while complying with training in responsible alcohol service and sanitation. Must meet age and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and complete GED within six months.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• One year related experience or training; or related beverage department experience at Wind Creek Hospitality.
• Ability to lift and maneuver at least 50 pounds.
• Must pass interview and guest service audition, and Alcohol service trainings.

Responsibilities

• Takes orders from guests and Servers.
• Maintains knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, and mixes.
• Keeps updated on cocktail recipes and production methods.
• Knows designated glassware and garnishes for each drink.
• Understands different types of alcoholic beverages and production methods.
• Inspects cleanliness of stations and related spaces; corrects deficiencies.
• Greets guests and uses suggestive selling and upselling techniques.
• Follows Call Order procedures when preparing orders for Servers.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of bars, displays, and equipment.
• Replaces ashtrays with two cigarette butts using the capping method.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Bartender shall mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to customers seated at Gaming Machines or bar areas throughout the gaming facilities

Duties and Responsibilities

• Takes orders from guests and Servers
• Maintains complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, specials and mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks
• Maintains a complete awareness of cocktail and drink recipes and production methods
• Maintains a complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnish for each drink
• Maintains knowledgeable of different types of alcoholic beverages and their methods of production
• Inspects cleanliness and condition of assigned stations and associated public space and rectifies any deficiencies
• Greets guests and takes orders utilizing suggestive selling and up-selling techniques
• Utilizes Call Order procedures when preparing orders for Servers
• Continuously maintains cleanliness and organization of bars, bottle displays, coolers and station equipment
• Replaces ashtrays with two (2) cigarette butts, utilizing the “capping” method
• Other duties & responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

• High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
• One (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience- required
• OR six (6) months’ experience within the Beverage Department at WCH- required
• Willingness and ability to lift and maneuver a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats
• Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
• Must successfully complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service, and TIPS training
• Must successfully complete ServeSafe Sanitation training
• Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
• Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
• Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
