Job summary

SSP America is seeking a friendly and reliable Bartender to join our team in Sterling, VA. The role includes taking orders, handling payments, serving drinks and food, maintaining a clean work area, and supporting guests with excellent service.

We offer great pay starting at $3.50 per hour plus tips, full-time and part-time positions, benefits, referral bonuses, two weeks of PTO, and opportunities for advancement. On-Demand Pay via Fuego is also available to employees.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year bartending experience with proper training/certification.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service.
• Verbal and written English language proficiency.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders.
• Basic math skills to operate a cash register and handle payments.

Responsibilities

• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from customers and make change.
• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a variety of foods to guests.
• Transfer supplies between storage and work areas and keep the area clean.
• Maintain clean equipment and utensils, empty trash, and sweep/mop the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Here are a few things you can expect when you join our team as a Bartender

• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.


• Receive payment from the customer and process change.


• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests.


• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.


• Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day.


• Clean equipment and utensils, removes trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean.


• Other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate For This Position Has

• Minimum one year bartending experience required, including certification by state, federal, or local required training program.


• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.


• Verbal and written English language


• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.


• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand weights and measurements.


• Brand certification as required.


• Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check and order & close out a check.


• Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time.
