Job summary

Marcus Theatres is seeking a Bartender for part-time shifts to provide excellent guest service in a theatre/bar setting. You will prepare beverages, interact with guests, take orders, and ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Starting pay is $15.00 per hour with opportunities for growth. Experience with the Aloha POS system and cash handling is preferred. Must be at least 21 to serve alcohol where required.

Qualifications

• Six months of work experience or more is preferred.
• Willing and motivated to learn new skills and tasks.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle cash transactions.
• Able to obtain relevant training/certificates and/or licensure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare beverages for guests according to recipes.
• Attend to guests, take orders, and serve food and drinks.
• Follow food safety policies and sanitation standards.
• Maintain knowledge of bar menu items and make recommendations.
• Set up and stock bar areas, clean and sanitize workspaces.
• Monitor social distancing guidelines and ensure guest safety.

Broad Description of Duties:

The Bartender is responsible for providing superior service, interacting with guests, and providing the best possible guest experience while ensuring consistent drink quality. As a Bartender, you will prepare orders in a fast-paced environment while following recipes and guidelines established by the Food and Beverage department. You will provide superior guest service while maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment as a member of the Marcus Theatres Food and Beverage team.

This position reports to a member of the theatre management team or General Manager (reporting may vary by location).

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

• Associates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation;
• Prepare beverages for our guests;
• Attend to guests and provide an excellent guest experience by interacting with guests, being attentive, taking orders and serving food and drinks;
• Follow company food safety policies, as well as those of local regulatory agencies;
• Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items;
• Assess guests' needs and preferences to make recommendations;
• Verify that guests who purchase alcohol are at least 21 years of age;
• Set up and maintain appropriate stock levels for the bar;
• Clean and sanitize all areas in the bar and lounge area for guests and associates;
• Monitor and communicate social distancing guidelines

Job Requirements:

• Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
• A minimum of six(6) months of work experience;
• Ability to learn and use the Aloha Point Of Service System;
• Accuracy in transactions and cash-handling skills;
• Ability to obtain relevant training certificate and/or licensure;
• Ability to follow all cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices as mandated by the company and local regulatory agencies.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, and/or walk often. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work is performed in a theatre/restaurant/bar environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high with an occasional loud environment.
