Job summary

The Grove Master in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a bartender to greet customers, check IDs, mix and serve drinks, and keep the bar stocked and clean. You will operate the POS, handle payments, and ensure safety and quality in all beverage service tasks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Follow beverage handling, wrapping, dating, and temperature controls.
  • Clean bar, workstations and equipment regularly.
  • Maintain safety to prevent customer injuries.
  • Empty trash, sweep and mop floors.
  • Follow security and safety procedures in stores.
  • Interact well with coworkers and offer help.
  • Notify management of incidents immediately.
  • Perform other duties as needed by management.

Job DetailsJob Location: MSP 601 - St Paul, MN 55111Salary Range: $16.37 - $16.37 HourlyReports to: Director of Ops, General Manager, Assistant Managers and Supervisors

Essential Job functions of the BA include:
  • Greet and acknowledge customers promptly. Read and listen to customers to determine their drink preferences and make recommendations as needed.
  • Check customer identification to ensure customers are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to the menu options.
  • Prepare drinks for servers who are serving customers in the designated seating areas.
  • Always maintain a solid knowledge of the menu items and special promotions. Retail promotions and upsell to customers.
  • Make recommendations for new drink/menu ideas to management.
  • Arrange bar supplies and glasses to ensure the bar always looks neat and attractive.
  • Order and receive inventory and make sure the bar and tables are always stocked.
  • Operate POS cash register and accurately record drink and food items purchased by the customer.
  • Accept customer payment and secure cash in POS cash drawer. Follow TGI’s cash handling policy and procedure and always maintain proper security of cash.
  • Ensure proper beverage handling procedures are being followed including wrapping, labeling, dating, rotating, and checking temperature of products.
  • Clean and sanitize the bar, workstations, and equipment regularly.
  • Clean anything that could result in customer injury to keep customers safe.
  • Empty trash bins, sweep and mop floors.
  • Follow all security and safety procedures while in stores.
  • Interact well with coworkers and offer help and assistance as needed.
  • Notify Management of any incidents or accidents immediately.
  • Other duties as needed and required by the job or by management.
Qualifications
  • Ensure that all quality and Health/Safety requirements are met in accordance with Federal, State, and Local standards.
  • Must meet the state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages and have all certifications as required by state, city, and local municipalities.

  • Dependability: Is punctual. Can be relied upon to be at work according to schedule. Complies with policies regarding clocking in/out and use of breaks.

  • Customer Service/Salesmanship: Consistently effective and pays attention to customer’s needs.
  • Requires the ability to speak in English clearly, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers.
  • Store Operations: Is dependable and conscientious about performing tasks. Follows safety rules while in stock room and stores.
  • Communication: Communicates effectively and listens well.
  • Teamwork/Interpersonal Skills: Is cooperative and helpful. Offers help and assistance and can be counted on. Interacts well with others.
  • Conduct: Is friendly and even-tempered. Performs consistently and effectively under pressure.
  • Product Handling/Stocking: Handles all products and supplies in a safe and sanitary manner. Distributes the products and supplies efficiently according to store’s requisition/stock list.
  • Company Policies and Procedures: Regularly adheres to policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Must be able to bend, twist and stand for extended periods to perform job functions.
  • Must have the ability to lift and push objects weighing over 40 lbs.
  • Requires hands to be frequently immersed in water and water diluted with chemical solutions.
  • Follows safety rules provided in the TGI Safety Manual along with other TGI policies and procedures.
  • Reports any safety hazards to management immediately.
