Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort in Marathon, FL invites an experienced bartender to join our beachfront team. You will greet guests, take drink and food orders, and craft cocktails and beverages to high standards in a lively resort setting.

This role emphasizes guest engagement, accurate POS orders, and steady stock management while upholding safety and service policies. Prior resort bar experience, strong communication, and a passion for island hospitality are valued.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a resort bar environment.
• Must meet age requirements to serve alcohol according to state law.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take drink/food orders, including cocktails and beer.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to standard recipes.
• Learn and use guests' names and remember regulars' preferences.
• Thoroughly and correctly set up the bar before opening and keep it clean.
• Stock/liquor, juices, glassware, and supplies; perform side-work as scheduled.
• Answer guest questions about menu items, garnishes, and preparation methods.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to increase check averages.
• Complete alcohol serving training such as TIPS or state-approved classes.
• Process orders accurately and handle cashiering using the POS system.

Skills:

• Greet customers, take drink/food orders, create/serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including cocktails and beer.
• Assist and approach all guests in a sincere, courteous, and service-oriented manner, and whenever possible, go the extra mile to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• Learn and use guest’s name to address them. Remember regular guest’s favorite drinks.
• Thoroughly and correctly set up the bar prior to opening; make sure bar is clean before and at the end of shift according to operational policies and standards to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction.
• Completes necessary side-work as per schedule, this includes stocking and organizing all liquor, juices, glassware, paper, wines, cut fruit, etc.
• Answer guest’s questions regarding menu items and beverages served, their garnish, contents, and preparation methods confidently and accurately.
• Utilize suggestive selling techniques to increase check averages.
• Complete and maintain up-to-date alcohol serving class, such as TIPS and/or other state approved classes.
• Check guest order prior to serving to ensure that appearance, temperature, and portions are correct.
• Assist in maintaining beverage cost by reducing unnecessary waste.
• Conduct and be aware of inventory at all times and requisition daily supplies as needed to ensure efficient operations.
• Take orders accurately and follow proper cashiering functions by completing/closing guest checks and submitting information into POS system.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience working in a resort bar environment.
• Must meet age requirements to serve alcohol as defined by state law.
