POSITION OVERVIEW

The Bartender is responsible for crafting exquisite cocktails, providing exceptional guest service, and creating an inviting and entertaining atmosphere for our guests. This position requires mixology knowledge, an engaging personality, and the ability to multitask.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Prepare and serve a diverse range of alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and specialty drinks, following established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Offer personalized drink recommendations to guests based on their preferences, highlighting the unique features of each beverage.
  • Greet guests warmly, take drink orders efficiently, and provide attentive service throughout their time at the bar, ensuring an enjoyable experience.
  • Suggest premium or specialty drinks to increase sales and enhance the guests' bar experience.
  • Pay close attention to drink presentation, garnishing cocktails with creativity and precision.
  • Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, and handle money responsibly following established cash‑handling procedures.
  • Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and well‑stocked with supplies, including glassware, garnishes, and beverages.
  • Comply with local alcohol service laws and regulations, monitoring guest intoxication levels and refusing service when necessary.
  • Engage guests in lively conversation and provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, fostering a sense of community within the bar.
  • Work collaboratively with bar staff, kitchen staff, and management to maintain a smooth flow of service and a positive team environment.
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proven experience and expertise in mixology, with knowledge of various cocktails, spirits, and drink preparation techniques.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Previous experience as a bartender in a busy bar or restaurant setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages and the ability to educate guests about them.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple drink orders and tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Must meet the legal age requirement for serving alcoholic beverages in your location.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Work in a fast‑paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.
  • Completed Bartenders Local 165 Apprenticeship Training Program.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or over.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
