Bartender

Reports To

Bar Manager, Front of the House Manager, General Manager and/or other members of the management team depending on store structure.

Job Summary

Provide timely, accurate, and friendly service while preparing high-quality beverages for guests. The primary goal is to deliver a unique and extraordinary experience that earns loyalty from guests and team members.

Activities & Responsibilities

Primary

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with Legacy Restaurant Group's mission to provide an exceptional experience that fosters loyalty.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes.
  • Accept guest payments, process credit card transactions, and give change as needed.
  • Check IDs to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase.
  • Clean and sterilize glasses, utensils, and bar equipment to health standards.
  • Balance cash receipts accurately.
  • Record drink orders promptly into the POS system.
  • Manage guests’ alcohol consumption responsibly, including steps to prevent over-service.
  • Stock bar supplies such as beer, wine, liquor, ice, glassware, and utensils.
  • Present drink menus, recommend beverages, and answer guest questions.
  • Take and serve beverage orders from guests or staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area and reset tables if applicable.
  • Mix drinks and prepare garnishes.
  • Serve snacks or food items as appropriate.
  • Handle unruly guests appropriately, including asking them to leave if necessary.
  • Arrange bottles and glasses attractively for efficient service and display.
  • Report equipment issues and maintenance needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings and suggest improvements.
  • Assist colleagues to meet guest needs and ensure smooth operations.
  • Fill in for colleagues when needed to maintain service standards.

Supplemental

  • Oversee and control bar operations and other restaurant areas as needed.

Tools & Technology

  • Bar code scanners, credit card machines, cash registers, beverage dispensers, cocktail shakers, blenders, graters, dishwashers, juicers, mixers, strainers, mist sprayers, ice machines, POS systems, and computers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the predominant language(s) of guests.
  • At least three years of front-of-the-house or assistant management experience in food and beverage service.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Experience handling money and operating POS systems.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).
  • Lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Stamina to work up to 40 hours per week.
