Job summary

Raines Co. is seeking a skilled Bartender to provide outstanding service, fulfill guests' beverage needs, and process payments in a fast-paced hotel/bar environment.

You will greet guests, suggest menu items, and maintain a clean, compliant bar area while ensuring excellent guest experiences. Ideal candidates have prior bartender or barback experience, strong knowledge of cocktails, familiarity with food and liquor laws, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a bartender or barback.
  • Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing alcohol service.
  • Certifications such as ServSafe or TIPS may be required by local authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a friendly, courteous and attentive manner.
  • Serve food and drinks using suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked bar and knowledge of menus and specials.
  • Handle cash and process payments accurately.
  • Prepare garnishments for drinks and operate the Micros system.

Position Summary: The Bartender is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. Service guests by fulfilling their food and beverage needs and collecting payment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Greet guests in a friendly, courteous and attentive manner
  • Serve food and drinks for guests using suggestive selling techniques
  • Have a thorough knowledge of menus and applicable specials.
  • Ring drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests.
  • Prepare garnishments for drinks.
  • Be able to operate the hotel computer system, Micros.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures along with side work as assigned.
  • Follow proper procedure regarding cash handling, following cash bank reconciliation and end of shift drop.
  • Maintain a clean bar
  • Know and comply with food handling and liquor laws.
  • Engage guests in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner
  • Perform all bar setup and restocking/replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
  • Adhere to hotel grooming standards.
  • Assist food and beverage team as situations arise.
  • Resolve guest complains and perform service recover when required (and escalation to immediate supervisor if needed)

Experience And Education

  • Previous experience as a bartender or barback
  • Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Certifications as required by Federal, State, or Local agencies
  • ServSafe, TIPS Certification
  • Minimum High school diploma, GED or equivalent
