The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, taking drink and food orders, mixing ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and sugar to prepare cocktails and other drinks, serving beer and beverages, and completing transactions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist and approach all guests sincerely, courteously, and with a service-oriented attitude, striving to exceed guest expectations.
- Learn and use guests' names; remember regular guests' favorite drinks.
- Perform cashier duties following company and franchise standards, ensuring quality service and guest satisfaction.
- Set up the bar thoroughly before opening; keep the bar clean during and after shifts according to policies to ensure guest comfort.
- Complete side-work such as stocking liquor, juices, glassware, and other supplies as scheduled.
- Be knowledgeable about menu items and beverages, including garnishes, contents, and preparation methods; confidently answer guest questions.
- Use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.
- Maintain up-to-date alcohol serving certifications like TIPS or equivalent.
- Adhere to all local and national liquor laws.
- Check guest orders for presentation, temperature, and portions before serving.
- Assist in controlling beverage costs by minimizing waste.
- Keep inventory up-to-date and requisition supplies as needed.
- Accurately take orders and process transactions using the POS system.
- Follow proper procedures for serving liquor.
- Be familiar with the computer system for handling transactions.
- Pre-bus and bus tables per standards, preparing for incoming guests.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Be of legal age to serve alcohol per local laws.
- Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and compliance with work schedules.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including dress code compliance.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED preferred; experience in hospitality is a plus. Completion of bartender training courses and at least one year of bartending experience preferred. Current alcohol service certification required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to understand instructions, communicate effectively, and present information to guests and staff.
- Basic math and computer skills, including POS systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Environment with temperature control, lighting, and outdoor exposure possible.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
