Job summary

LBA Hospitality in Chattanooga, TN seeks a bartender to deliver prompt and courteous service, serve high quality beverages, and maintain a clean, guest-ready outlet. This position requires standing for long periods and ability to lift up to 60 pounds as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least one year in food and beverage, HS diploma, and certifications preferred. You'll work with a team to manage guest orders, handle charges, and uphold brand standards while promoting sales and guest

Qualifications

• One year experience in food and beverage position.
• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Food Handling and Alcohol Safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a guest-ready bar area.
• Prepare/serve drinks as requested by guests.
• Process guest charges and gratuities in accordance with standards, policies.
• Maintain safety and security practices, and knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Ensure guests are provided with the highest quality product and service.
• Maintain liquor inventory regularly.

PREREQUISITES

Company associates have access to guestrooms and property. As such, character traits of honesty and trustworthiness are essential to this position and must be displayed at all times. Per company policy, potential associates must pass appropriate security clearances.

• One year experience in food and beverage position.
• Experience with chain food and retail outlet preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Associate’s Degree preferred
• Food Handling and Alcohol Safety certifications preferred

Summary Of Essential Job Functions

• Must be able to perform major life activities: Standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
• Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, reach.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge

• Age requirements and verify those who order any alcoholic beverages.
• Menu items, preparation methods and beverage choices.
• Various types of alcoholic beverages, know trends and preparation of cocktails.
• Standards of operation as required by brand.
• Area shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions to assist guest inquiries.
• Daily hotel operations check daily events, bulletin boards and be up to date on changes, new procedures and events.
• Entire property, staff, services, hours of operation, type of rooms, locations, rates, discounts

Skills

• Friendly professional attitude is a daily expected characteristic
• Computer literate to thoroughly operate property management system: post charges, compute bills, collect payment and make change.
• Sell, suggest and serve quality food and beverage items as per standards

• Multi task, remain associate and guest service centric.

• Market and promote to increase exposure and sales.

• Ensure guests are provided with the highest quality product and service.
• Maintain certification from a brand approved responsible vendor training program.
• Maintain liquor inventory regularly.
• Other duties as assigned, that the associate is capable of performing

Working Conditions/Special Requirements

• This position requires a physical presence at the hotel and is not conducive of telecommuting or remote work.
• Standing, walking for long periods of time while maintaining a friendly professional image.
• May be required to work any day/shift, including weekends.
