Purpose: Prepares various beverages for full-service restaurant/bar and provides service to dining guests with a passion to elevate guest service experience.
Overview
Purpose-driven role focused on preparing beverages, serving guests, and upholding service standards in a full-service hotel restaurant/bar environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet, direct, seat, and take food and beverage orders. Serve guests in accordance with company standards.
- Adhere to all beverage pour and recipe standards.
- Communicate inventory needs to appropriate manager.
- Be knowledgeable of all food, wine, beer, alcohol, and specialty cocktails offered; provide wine knowledge and pairing suggestions.
- Use suggestive selling techniques and strive for revenue growth.
- Communicate daily specials and specialty menus to guests.
- Practice safe serving of alcohol, recognize intoxication, and refuse service when needed. Consult with Restaurant Manager when support is required.
- Anticipate guest needs, personalize service when possible, and remember guest requests.
- Complete pre-shift preparation such as garnishes, pre-mix, and ice; perform side work and closing tasks as required.
- Operate efficiently during peak service times, seeking leadership support as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Clean and maintain all working areas and equipment.
- Prepare and present final bill; process settlement using the POS system and note any adjusted tips.
- Reconcile cash, correctly charge credit cards, and make appropriate cash deposits at shift end.
- Check out with manager after shift; practice cleanliness and safety in all dining and storage areas.
- Participate in daily staff meetings and department training; assist team members to promote positive teamwork.
- Practice knowledge of food allergies and safety; follow all safety and security procedures.
- Escalate associate concerns to Restaurant Manager.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Remain standing for up to 8 hours.
- Remain standing or walking for 90% of shift with routine breaks.
- Move and lift up to 50 lbs; lift items overhead; bend and reach repeatedly.
- Visually survey property areas clearly; move up and down stairs; use repetitive manual dexterity; respond quickly to guest needs.
- Communicate effectively in public; read, write, and speak English proficiently; complete satisfactory background check.
- Able and willing to work flexible hours including weekdays and weekends.
- Furnish ME Liquor affidavit and safe alcohol service training certificate requirements as applicable.

Key Skills & Experience Required
- 1+ year bartending experience at a full-service bar.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for the role.
- Ability to prioritize, respond promptly, work under pressure, multi-task, and remain hospitable to guests.
- Understanding of restaurant operations, including food and beverage knowledge, steps of service, and cash management as it relates to selling.
