Night and Weekend Shifts
To serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, ensuring guest satisfaction. Also, to prepare beverages for other servers and act as a cashier for the lounge.
Essential Job Functions
This description summarizes primary responsibilities and qualifications. It is not exhaustive and may change based on operational needs, including shift variations due to the hotel’s 24/7 operation.
- Greet guests courteously, promote and document drink orders, and mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes and portion controls.
- Maintain proper bar setup daily, including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, supplies, and perishables based on daily projections.
- Manage stock, prepare, and store garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure quality.
- Handle cash transactions, verify charges, record sales, and balance cash drawers.
- Secure beverages, food, and equipment, deposit cash drops, and secure the bank.
- Answer bar phone courteously, take room service orders accurately, and input orders into the POS system, maintaining accountability for all beverages served.
- Perform cleaning tasks using standard products to meet health standards.
- Follow all company policies, safety, and security procedures, including emergency protocols and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as per the team member handbook.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers and assist fellow beverage staff when needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of liquor regulations regarding service to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Current Food Handler Card.
- Basic understanding of food and beverage service, including alcoholic beverages.
- Mathematical skills for operating a cash register, making change, and managing charges.
- Basic English skills for completing requisitions and vouchers.
- Sufficient manual dexterity for handling glassware, garnishes, and stock.
- Ability to understand and communicate in basic English.
- Ability to follow written instructions for product handling and apply menu knowledge effectively.
- Operate beverage equipment, such as coffee makers.
Physical Demands
- Transport up to 30 lbs. frequently throughout shifts.
- Constant standing, walking, twisting, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
