Job summary

Equinox is seeking Barre and Mat Pilates Instructors for Bethesda locations. Instructors will deliver the Equinox Experience in each class, maintain class flow, monitor intensity, and ensure timely starts and ends. Candidates must hold a current discipline certification, have teaching experience, and CPR/AED certification.

• Must possess a current certification in their discipline.
• Experience teaching fitness classes is required.
• CPR/AED certification must be current.
• Solid knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology; ability to modify exercises for all populations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to members in each class.
• Adhere to class descriptions and adjust intensity as needed.
• Monitor exercise intensity throughout classes and ensure timely starts/ends.
• Teach classes regularly and minimize substitutions; communicate feedback to Group Fitness Manager.

Job Description

Equinox's locations in Bethesda are currently seeking Barre and Mat Pilates Instructors. The position entails the following responsibilities. This is not a complete description, and certain responsibilities may additionally be presented along the course of employment:

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to our members in each class;
• Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary;
• Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class;
• Ensure class begins and ends on time;
• Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum;
• Communicate with Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing;

Qualifications

• Barre and Mat Pilates Instructors must possess a current certification in their discipline;
• Have experience teaching;
• Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification;
• Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations;
• Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education;
• Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing;
• Must have access to regular email and phone communication.

Pay Transparency

$60-$80/class; or $18.40/hr (non-class work)
