Job summary

Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes in Juneau seeks a Barista for Sacred Grounds to prepare specialty coffee and beverages while greeting customers and delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced cafe.

Experience with espresso equipment and POS systems is preferred, with opportunities for on-call, part-time, or full-time employment and a competitive hourly rate with tips.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of specialty coffee ingredients.
• Experience using commercial espresso equipment.
• Adherence to safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices.
• Knowledge of food preparation and food service skills.
• Good customer service to manage multiple orders in a busy retail atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, to include coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, and tea.
• Take accurate orders from customers and relay correct information to appropriate staff.
• Operate espresso equipment.
• Clean and sanitize work area, utensils espresso machine and other equipment.
• Stock customer-service stations with paper products, condiments and other appropriate supplies.
• Receive and process customer payments.
