Job summary

Sightglass Coffee Roasters in Berkeley, CA is seeking baristas who are passionate about coffee and eager to learn. You will deliver espresso, pour overs, flash chill drinks, and tea while guiding customers through our offerings.

You will work with a team to maintain smooth cafe operations and uphold high service standards. The role requires enthusiasm for coffee, strong customer service, and the ability to multi-task under pressure.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated enthusiastic desire to work with coffee.
• Ability to function and be efficient within a team.
• Capable of executing multiple tasks at once and remaining composed under stress.
• Possess an exceptional level of customer service and professionalism.
• Maintain an organized and methodical work style.
• Ability to retain coffee specific knowledge of offerings, while communicating product details clearly.
• Possession of a current ServSafe Food Handler's card and/or acquire certificate.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an unmatched coffee experience and serve our full range of beverages including espresso, pour over, flash chill, and loose-leaf tea.
• Stay knowledgeable and educate customers on current offerings including beans, drinks, food, and merchandise.
• Follow manager directives and support team members to anticipate needs, ensure smooth café operations, and uphold our product and service standards.
• Adhere to company policies including but not limited to cash handling, product standards, and hospitality best practices.
• Strives for the highest standards in drinks, customer interaction, attitude and leadership.
