Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is hiring for a full-time BARISTA LEAD. The role includes supervising cafe staff, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring quality beverage preparation at a $22.00/hour pay rate.

• Previous barista and excellent customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service with personal attention to detail.
• Oversees and participates in food and beverage preparation following standards.
• Helps plan menus and ensure timely, efficient meal service.
• Responds to customer complaints in person and via email.
• Trains employees and coordinates work to promote efficiency and excellence.
• Manages work procedures, schedules, and expeditious workflow.
• Uses systems for daily/weekly/monthly reports, inventory and payroll.
• Ensures proper cash handling as per policy.
• Orders food and supplies from approved sources.
• Directs sanitation and safety in line with regulations.
• Develops sanitation schedules and ensures adherence.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Oversees staff orientation and training.
