Job summary

Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) at the Cleveland VA Medical Center is hiring full- and part-time Food Service Workers to provide exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. The team supports serving America’s Heroes through cafes and retail markets.

Responsibilities include beverage and food preparation, maintaining sanitation, and assisting with varied duties. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and basic math for recipe instructions are required.

Qualifications

• Reading instructions and basic math for food preparation.
• Ability to stand/walk/bend for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift or move objects up to 40 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of beverages (coffee, latte, cappuccino, smoothies).
• Prepares and assembles items (breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, wraps, pancakes, burritos).
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of workplace and equipment.
• Stores food properly to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
• Prepares foods according to customers' orders or supervisor instructions.
• Will be exposed to varying temperatures (hot and cold).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
