Job summary

Eataly, the world’s largest artisanal Italian marketplace, is seeking a Barista to create and serve specialty hot and cold beverages across multiple QSR counters. You’ll follow our recipes, guide guests on menu items and maintain fast, friendly service.

Responsibilities include preparing espresso-based drinks, setting up stations, managing display freshness, operating the POS, and keeping work areas clean. A 1+ year barista background and high school diploma are preferred; onsite schedule

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about coffee, tea and drink preparation, and product.
• Outstanding communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for all production.
• 1+ year barista experience on a manual espresso machine preferred.
• High school diploma preferred.

• Prepares and serves authentic espresso, coffee and other café drinks at multiple counters.
• Provides guests with exceptional service and product details, such as coffee blend or preparation description.
• Sets up stations and replenishes displays neatly including separation of allergens (nuts, wheat, etc.).
• Ensures all items are dated and following First in First Out (FIFO) standards.
• Weighs, grinds or packs coffee beans for guests according to their specifications.
• Operates the Point of Sale (POS) system ensuring accuracy of cash drops and authenticity of bills.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas in accordance with supervising health agency of the area.
• Works across all QSR counters serving pastry, gelato, pizza and other Italian delicacies.
• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Job Description

A Barista creates and serves specialty hot and cold beverages according to Eataly’s recipes and guests’ special requests. A Barista is knowledgeable about all coffee menu items, provides high-quality, fast-paced service and is able to work at multiple QSR counters performing various functions. Reports to the General Manager QSR and the QSR Assistant General Managers.

Job Requirements

• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including early mornings, evenings and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
• Ability to operate equipment such as manual espresso machine, ovens, drink blender, juicer and Point of Sale
• Dexterity for rapid and consistent espresso creation

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is $17.50 per hour plus tips.
