Job summary

The Barista at maman is responsible for crafting and serving high-quality maman beverages while delivering exceptional service. This role requires technical coffee skills, efficiency, and a guest-first mindset, maintaining a clean and DOH-compliant workstation and building relationships with guests through warm hospitality.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of barista experience, strong espresso and milk texturing skills, and a positive, team-focused attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of barista experience.
• Ability to pass a barista skills evaluation.
• Working knowledge of espresso preparation, micro-foam milk texturing, and basic latte art.
• Strong understanding of POS tickets, modifiers, and beverage offerings.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve the full beverage menu in accordance with maman’s recipes and standards.
• Ensure beverage consistency, quality, and presentation across drinks.
• Maintain service time standards, 8 minutes weekdays and 10 minutes weekends.
• Demonstrate espresso, milk texturing, and basic latte art proficiency.
• Read and execute POS tickets accurately.
• Deliver warm, personalized service to every guest following the steps of service.
• Build rapport with regular guests and inform them of seasonal specials.
• Communicate menu offerings clearly, including ingredients and allergy info.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service.
• Address guest concerns professionally and escalate when needed.
• Maintain an organized bar workflow and coordinate with FOH/BOH.
• Follow procedures to ensure consistent quality and cross-train as needed.
• Keep bar station DOH compliant and report hazards promptly.
