Job summary

CC Holdings is hiring a part-time barista/cashier for the Café at the IU School of Medicine. Shifts run 6 AM–7 PM with flexibility to fit student schedules and other commitments. You will prepare beverages, take orders, and handle transactions while delivering friendly, efficient service.

Starting rate is $13 per hour with opportunities for growth and weekly pay. Benefits such as training, employee discounts, and potential advancement are available for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills are required.
• Flexible schedule with shifts between 6 AM and 7 PM.
• Experience as barista or cashier is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages (coffee, espresso, tea, smoothies) in a timely and sanitary manner.
• Educate guests on drink menus and upsell items.
• Process cash, debit, and credit transactions on the POS system.
• Balance cash drawer and provide friendly service.

Part-time Barista/Cashier positions are now being filled at our Café located in the IU School of Medicine. Shifts available 6 AM-7 PM(shifts vary), must have flexibility.

The barista prepares and serves hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee, espresso, tea, and smoothie drinks in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner. Baristas are responsible for educating guests on our drink menus, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items, and taking orders. As a cashier, you are responsible for processing cash, debit and credit card transactions on a point-of-sale system. Cashiers balance the cash drawer, make change and enter purchases. Customer service skills are required. Starting rate 13 an hour and up, depending on experience! If you are looking for a fun, fast paced environment this is the opportunity for you!!

Requirements

• Arrives in proper uniform and adheres to all grooming standards.
• Sets up station according to cafe guidelines.
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follows portion control and presentation specifications as set by the café.
• Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
• Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
• Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station.
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerance.
• Ensure quality and safety of food by performing standard and any additional sanitary measures including sweeping of the floors, cleaning of surfaces, as well as proper covering and storage of food items according to standards and procedures.
• Work at efficient and consistent pace.
• Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Follows all cash handling procedures as outlined.
• Assists in financial accountability by correctly recording orders, receiving/giving change, and counting the drawer.
• Thanks the customers and invite them to return.
• Acts as a role model with customers and staff, and helps provide on-the-job training for new barista/cashier.
• Works with others in a team to support operations, standards and concept essence.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and “listening” skills.
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
