Job summary

Food For Thought is seeking a friendly Cashier/Barista in Glenview, IL. You will greet customers, take orders, handle cash payments, and operate the POS to ensure accurate transactions.

Role supports daily cafe operations, including beverage prep, inventory checks, and customer assistance. Prior hospitality or kitchen experience is helpful; valid Food Handler and Food Allergen certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Customer service excellence; cash handling and POS system experience.
• Experience in culinary and prep kitchen positions.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work with speed, consistency, and organization.
• Must provide valid Food Handler Certificate and Food Allergen Certification.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Prepare and serve beverages (coffee, tea, specialty drinks).
• Select high-quality food items for menu preparation.
• Assist with catering events and special projects.
• Ensure item pricing is accurate.
• Stock and refill inventory; monitor levels.
• Maintain safe and sanitary facilities and equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Operate POS and balance cash drawers.
