Job summary

Pret A Manger is looking for a passionate Barista in Philadelphia to join our team. You’ll craft consistently excellent drinks, create genuine moments with guests, and bring energy that defines Pret Buzz. You’ll also coach and develop teammates on Pret’s Barista Prepared Drinks program.

Required: Barista experience of 1 year, espresso proficiency, strong communication, reliability and teamwork. Weekly Mystery Shopper bonus and tips are included, along with comprehensive benefits for full-time

Qualifications

• Barista with at least 1 year experience

Responsibilities

• Coach and train Team Members on Barista Prepared Drinks and standards
• Deliver drinks within the 60-second service standard
• Liaise with management to plan and carry out training
• Hold team briefs and participate in relevant meetings/courses
• Maintain Barista Prepared Drinks equipment and inventory
• Follow Pret dress code and presentable appearance
• Support with keeping shelves restocked and looking presentable

Key Responsibilities:
Right Pret People: Barista Prepared Drinks Training

• To coach and train Team Member Star and Baristas-in-training on Barista Prepared Drinks and standards

• Deliver drinks within the 60-second service standard, communicating proactively when delays occur

• To liaise with management to ensure to ensure all Barista Prepared Drinks training is planned and carried out as appropriate

• To carry out coffee team briefs and attend any relevant meetings and courses relating to Barista Prepared Drinks when appropriate

• To ensure all hot drinks training material is available and up to date

• To follow Pret’s dress code and be immaculately presented,wearing the correct uniform at all times

Amazing Service: Creating Pret Buzz

• To positively engage withguestsand the teamwith eye contact and a smile

• To serve Barista Prepared Drinks to the 60 seconds standards, communicating to customers and the team when this is not possible

• To ‘wow’ customers with latte art

• Tomaintainthe Barista Prepared Drinks equipment, Baristaboxand daily & weekly checks to Pret standards

• To view the Barista Prepared Drinks counter through a customer’s eyes and clean as you go

• To carry out log checks, thermometercalibrationand dribble tests in line with Pret standards

• To manage the waste levels of Barista Prepared Drinks ingredients

• To action any issues relating to stock variances and waste for Barista Prepared Drinks as required by yourManager

• Support with keeping shelves restocked and looking picture perfect throughout the day

Growing Sales: Maximizing Barista Prepared Drinks sales

• To have a weekly sales target and share this with the team

• To know your shop Barista Prepared Drinks sales versus total sales and the mix

• To recognize regular customers withappropriate volumeof drinks via Joy of Pret
  

RequiredExperience:

• Barista: 1 year (Required)

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 50 pounds; bend, reach overhead, squat, kneel, and go up and down stairs as needed; safely maneuver through tight or compact spaces; operate restaurant equipment and handle tools such as tongs, pots, and pans with dexterity; work in environments ranging from hot to cold, including near open flames and occasional outdoor conditions; maintain close, distance, and peripheral vision; communicate continuously with team members; and work in a constant state of alertness while maintaining safe operations
