Job summary

Kith Women's Cafe is hiring a Barista to join our team in New York. The role supports guests with beverage knowledge, operates the coffee program, and collaborates with MOD and management to ensure a seamless dining experience.

The Barista will be trained on all beverages and menu items, providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency at the coffee station.

Qualifications

• Valid and current Food Handlers License or ServSafe certification required.
• 1+ year in the Food & Beverage industry as a Barista on a manual machine.
• 1+ year in a high-volume, customer-facing role.
• Experience processing cash and card transactions through a POS system.

Responsibilities

• Maintain coffee station cleanliness, organization, and inventory levels.
• Uphold quality control standards and ensure proper recipe execution across the coffee program.
• Maintain maintenance logs and communicate repair needs to MOD/management.
• Receive coffee inventory and perform FIFO rotation.
• Educate guests on all coffee products and upsell branded coffee.
• Regularly deep clean and maintain all coffee equipment.
• Operate the POS with positive energy and know the full bar menu.
• Complete prep work and other tasks as directed by MOD/management.
• Support the team by cleaning and stocking other stations and customer areas.
• Assist with dishes, sampling, and other F&B needs.
• Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and company standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Location: Kith Women's Cafe

Status: Full Time or Part Time

Compensation: $18.00-$20.00/hr + Tip(s)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Position Summary: The F&B Barista is an essential partner in the guest's dining experience. The Barista will continuously partner with all MOD and management teams, to ensure a seamless experience for all our guests. The Barista will not only become an expert on all in-house beverage options, but they will also familiarize themselves with all menu items, to address any guest inquiries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain coffee station cleanliness, organization, and inventory levels.
• Uphold quality control standards and ensure proper recipe execution across the coffee program.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment logs and communicate repair or support needs to the MOD and management team
• Receive coffee inventory, and FIFO rotation of coffee products.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all coffee products and confidently educate guests and sell branded coffee from behind the counter
• Regularly conduct deep cleaning and proper maintenance of all coffee equipment.
• Operate the POS with positive energy and maintain knowledge of the full bar menu.
• Complete prep work and other operational tasks as directed by the MOD and management team
• Support the team by cleaning and stocking other stations and customer-facing areas as needed.
• Assist with dishes, sampling, and other F&B needs
• Uphold all food safety, sanitation, operational, and company standards
• Provide exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive, efficient team environment
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by MOD and management

Special Projects:

• Participate and assist in Physical Inventories as required by the business.
• Assist the Merchandising team during visual initiatives as required by the business.

REQUIREMENTS

Availability:

• Open & flexible availability, including but not limited to evenings, overnights, and weekends as well as Holidays.
• Availability to consistently work weekends, special projects, drops/releases or as the business' needs require.

Licenses/Certificates:

• Valid and current Food Handlers License from the Department of Health or ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate is required

Experience:

• 1+ years in the Food & Beverage industry as a Barista on a manual machine
• 1+ years in a high-volume customer-facing role
• 1+ years processing cash and card transactions through a POS system

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to multi-task
• Efficient communication
• Ability to lift and move 30lbs.
• Ability to perform standard tasks that are related to retail operations including but not limited to, bending, twisting, and climbing ladders/step stools.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
