Job Summary

CSCA Cafe is looking for experienced baristas to craft exceptional beverages for our customers. To succeed in this role, you should have work experience in coffee shops and/or bakeries. Ultimately, you will help increase profitability, boost customer engagement, and make CSCA cafe a favorite neighborhood spot.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, following recipes and customer preferences
• Operate coffee-making equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewers
• Prepare and/or package a variety of baked goods
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar, equipment, restroom, and seating areas
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering questions about the menu and retail products
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently
• Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and reporting shortages
• Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive and efficient work environment

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Attention to detail and a passion for coffee and customer service
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Basic math skills for handling transactions
• Food Safe Handling Certified - Preferred

Schedule

This is an hourly part-time position.

Compensation

$18 - $22/hr, commensurate with experience and educational background.

Work Environment

The work environment will be in a retail/café setting.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for hours at a time
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs
• Ability to move equipment, ingredients, and finished products from location to location as required
