About the Role

Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional hospitality to our guests, teammates, and vendors/suppliers.
- Make and serve a selection of beverages using various brewing and preparation methods.
- Prepare and serve delicious food.
- Stay updated on Blue Bottle’s beverage and food offerings and preparation techniques, continuously cultivating your own curiosity through in‑house tastings, cuppings, and trainings.
- Taste Blue Bottle beverages regularly to ensure quality, uphold standards, and develop your palate.
- Create community in our cafes by sharing your joy and knowledge of coffee and inspiring teammates to do the same.
- Support the team by handling the tasks that keep the cafe running smoothly—cleaning, clearing and washing dishes, sweeping, dusting, mopping, organizing condiment stations, and taking out trash.
- Be passionate about sustainability and help us achieve company‑wide sustainability goals.
- Uphold and follow all health, food safety, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Promote a safe and respectful work environment.
- Complete Blue Bottle’s Barista training and 90‑day validation post‑hire.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and be on your feet for the majority of the day.
- Use of hands to reach, grip, turn, and perform precision work—operating espresso machines, pouring pour‑overs, and operating the register.
- As needed, squat, bend, twist, and reach for items above waist or below shoulders.
- Ability to lift, push/pull, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- As needed, climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and uneven floors or surfaces.
- Ability to smell and taste, ensuring quality control for each cup and plate.
- Ability to listen and speak with guests to take and fill orders, and guide and create experiences.
- Environment may involve exposure to elevated temperatures from equipment, cooler temperatures in refrigerated spaces.
Compensation
$18.00 per hour + tips averaging approximately $5–10 per shift hour. Cafe Incentive Program.
