Sodexo at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD is seeking a Barista to deliver exceptional customer service while crafting hand-made beverages and maintaining a clean, efficient beverage station.

You will greet guests, prepare drinks such as coffee, espresso, tea, and more, handle cash transactions, and contribute to a smooth, welcoming dining experience on campus.

Qualifications

• Mixes and serves hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, fruit drinks, etc., with customer specifications.
• Maintains good customer relations and speedy delivery of beverages and food items.
• Educates guests regarding menu offerings and initiates suggestive selling.
• Arranges coffee bar supplies and displays attractively.
• Cleans coffee machines, restaurant areas, and preparation areas.

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $15 per hour - $16 per hour

What You'll Do

As a Barista at Sodexo, you will provide exceptional customer service while making hand-crafted, quality beverages. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Responsibilities include

• Greets all guests and provides quick, friendly, and personalized service.
• Mixes and serves hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks, etc., while considering customer specifications.
• Works to maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages and food items.
• Educate guests regarding menu offerings and initiate suggestive selling.
• Arranges coffee bar/cart supplies and cups/mugs to make attractive displays.
• Often cleans coffee machines, restaurant areas, and preparation areas.
• Records all sales, collects money, operates a cash register, and follows all cash‑handling procedures as required.
• Significant walking or other means of mobility.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

What You Bring

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Customer Service related work experience.
• Must have knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, standards, and inventory control systems.
• Starbucks Baristas may be required to be certified.
