Job summary

UNLV Health is seeking a Bariatric/Minimally Invasive Surgery Nurse Navigator in Las Vegas, NV. This role involves providing clinical coordination, patient education, and support throughout the surgical pathway.

The ideal candidate will have a current RN license in Nevada and at least 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience. Strong organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently, are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years clinical nursing experience, ideally in bariatrics, surgical care, or case management.
• Experience with patient education, care coordination, and multidisciplinary teams is strongly preferred.
• Certification in Nurse Navigation, Case Management, or Bariatric Nursing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead preoperative group bariatric education sessions.
• Review and evaluate incoming referrals for completeness and urgency.
• Serve as the primary contact for patients throughout their care.
• Collaborate with physicians on preoperative assessments.
• Streamline care pathways with multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate EMR records and track program metrics.
• Assist patients with insurance verification and appeals.
• Identify barriers and connect patients to resources.
