Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a dedicated RN to lead the Bariatric Program, coordinating services and coordinating with care teams. The role emphasizes program development, data collection and reporting, and presenting results to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have bariatric knowledge, strong communication skills, and experience with EMR systems and budgeting within a fast-paced, team-supported environment.

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice is required.
• Knowledgeable about bariatric surgery and bariatric care.
• Strong communication and computer skills with data reporting ability.
• Data entry, data bases and data registries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, promote and coordinate the Bariatric Program and services at Mercy Hospital.
• Perform duties per established stand of practice and Mercy/Employee Code of Conduct.
• Manage EMR use and data collection for program reporting.
• Create presentations and reports to support interdepartmental relationships.

Responsible for development, promotion and coordination of the Bariatric Program and services at Mercy Hospital. Performs duties consistent with the established stand of practice, the goal of Mercy, and within the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy and the Employee Code of Conduct. Performs related duties as assigned.

Position Details:

• Education: Graduated from an accredited RN nursing school.
• Licensure: Current RN in the state of practice.
• Experience: Knowledgeable regarding bariatric surgery, bariatric care and special needs related to the bariatric patient.
• Skills in program development, operations, presentation and budgeting.
• Use of the EMR.
• Chart review/Data collection and report writing experience preferred.
• Certification/Registration: Current Basic Life Support.
• Other: Ability to hear and read effectively.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to navigate effectively in many computer systems.
• Ability to work in a team-focused environment.
• Ability to work in a rapid-paced work environment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide quality bedside patient care.
• Preferred Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
• Preferred Experience: Skills in public relations and in development of interdepartmental relationships Experience in data entry, data bases and data registries.
• Preferred Certification/Registration: Certified Bariatric Nurse.
• Preferred Other: Excellent computer skills in development of presentations and reports.
