Job summary

MultiCare Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, WA is seeking a Weight Loss Specialty Dietitian to deliver comprehensive nutrition assessments and evidence-based medical nutrition therapy within medical weight loss and bariatric programs.

You will manage a dedicated patient panel, provide dietary education, and coordinate care with bariatric surgeons and referring physicians to support pre- and post-operative care and nutrition supplementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field; Master's preferred (MS, MA)
• Completion of an ACEND-accredited dietetic program and internship
• Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and in good standing
• Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) or obtain one prior to employment start date
• Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Certified Dietitian in the state of Washington
• Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM) preferred
• Inpatient or outpatient clinical nutrition experience providing medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process preferred
• Prior experience with adult and adolescent obesity preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nutrition assessments and evidence-based medical nutrition therapy
• Develop individualized nutrition prescriptions based on clinical diagnoses
• Manage a dedicated patient panel with pre- and post-operative appointments and weight loss consultations
• Provide dietary education and promote behavioral modifications
• Review laboratory results and address micronutrient deficiencies
• Advise on dietary supplementation and nutrient-drug interactions
• Coordinate care with bariatric surgeons, bariatricians, and referring physicians
• Facilitate referrals to interdisciplinary resources such as behavioral counseling and post-surgical services

Education

Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field

Master's degree preferred (MS, MA)

ACEND-accredited dietetic program and internship

National Provider Identifier (NPI) or eligibility

Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Certified Dietitian in the state of Washington

CSOWM preferred
