In this role, you'll partner with patients seeking medical weight loss, before and after metabolic and bariatric surgery, providing nutrition counseling, education, and ongoing support to help them achieve lasting health and wellness goals.If you're passionate about empowering patients through lifestyle change and evidence-based nutrition care, we'd love to hear from you.Position SummaryThe Registered Dietitian provides clinical nutrition assessment, counseling, and education for adult and adolescent bariatric patients. This role supports patients throughout their weight loss journey by developing individualized nutrition plans, guiding post-surgical diet progression, recommending appropriate supplementation, and promoting long-term healthy lifestyle changes.What You'll DoProvide individualized nutrition assessments and medical nutrition therapyEducate patients and families on pre- and post-bariatric surgery nutrition guidelinesGuide patients through post-operative diet progression and lifestyle modificationsRecommend vitamin and protein supplementation based on ASMBS guidelinesCollaborate with surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary team membersParticipate in cooking classes, bariatric support groups, community education, and program initiativesUtilize evidence-based practice to support optimal patient outcomesMaintain accurate documentation and patient education records.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Dietetics or related fieldRegistered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic RegistrationLicensed Dietitian in the State of GeorgiaBLS certificationMinimum one year of clinical dietitian experiencePreferred QualificationsInterest or experience in bariatric, weight management, or metabolic careMembership in the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) within one year of employmentWhy Join NGHS?At NGHS, you'll be part of a nationally recognized health system committed to improving the health of our community in all we do.
