Job summary

Qualifications

• Four years of appropriate trade experience and a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma.
• Open-competitive minimum qualifications under NY HELPS program.
• For Vocational Instructor 2/3/4, pedagogy coursework and degrees are required as specified by NYSED.
• Level of appointment depends on training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach a trade subject to residents at a OCFS residential facility.
• Prepare lesson plans, course outlines and progress reports.
• Establish and maintain a shop health and safety program.
