Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with professional experience as required.
• California State Board of Barbering or Cosmetology license is required.
• Demonstrated cultural competence and equity-minded practice with diverse student populations.
• Experience teaching college-level barbering/cosmetology is preferred.
• Familiarity with California Board standards and NIC testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in barbering according to State Board standards.
• Provide leadership in curriculum development and selection of instructional materials.
• Work with industry through advisory committees and other professional groups.
• Engage in a continuing program of personal professional development.
• Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours.
• Serve as a member of Division and college committees.
• Perform other professional duties as required by contract and general institutional needs.
