Union New American is currently hiring Barbacks to join our team.

Union New American, located at the Westshore City Center in Tampa is the go-to for lunch and dinner with globally inspired fare. Guests can also enjoy a private event space on the second floor. The space offers live music and dining in an outdoor terrace lounge.

Job Summary

The Barback assists in cleaning the bar, ensuring the bar is well stocked with napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, liquor, beer, wine and all other necessities. The Barback assists the Bartender to ensure that the bar operates smoothly.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience working in a restaurant or bar environment.
• Strong communication and listening skills to effectively deliver accurate messaging to teammates and management.
• Ability to understand, speak and follow written and verbal instruction in English.
• Strong attention to detail and well organized
• Excels in a team environment and is viewed as a team player by all Team Members

Physical Requirements

• Ability to balance and carry trays, multiple plates, glass racks and or/glasses.
• Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time.
• Must have the ability to lift, push, pull approximately 25lbs.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours during a single shift, while possibly navigating ramps, stairs, and elevators.
