Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Barback to support the bartender and ensure smooth bar operations at our Philadelphia location. The role requires physical stamina to stand and walk long shifts, and flexibility with shifts.

You will assist with setup, glassware, garnishes, stocking, and keeping the bar area clean and compliant with health codes. The position offers full-time hours with a competitive pay rate of $19.50 per hour, along with benefits and opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0 to 1 year related experience.
• Must be at least the minimum age to serve alcohol where required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the cleanliness and condition of the bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools.
• Collect empty glasses from the bar and wash glassware as necessary to ensure an adequate supply to serve customers.
• Prepares fresh garnishes for drinks employing the FIFO system.
• Restocks bar/designated station with supplies and transports supplies to bar set-up area.
• Anticipates and communicates replenishment needs.
• Maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, and refrigeration and storage areas to comply with health code standards.

As a Barback at Sodexo, you will perform various duties and responsibilities that support the Bartender. Responsibilities include:

• Set up and maintain the cleanliness and condition of the bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools.
• Collect empty glasses from the bar and wash glassware as necessary to ensure an adequate supply to serve customers.
• Prepares fresh garnishes for drinks employing the first-in, first-out (FIFO) system.
• Restocks bar/designated station with supplies and transports supplies to bar set-up area.
• Anticipates and communicates replenishment needs.
• Maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, and refrigeration and storage areas to comply with health code standards.
• Significant walking or other means of mobility.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

What You Bring:

• Must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol or bartend based on local city and state regulations.
