Job summary

Fixins Soul Kitchen is seeking a Barback to support our bar team in a high-energy setting. You will help keep the bar stocked, organized, and running smoothly so bartenders can deliver excellent service.

Ideal candidates bring strong organization and communication skills, enjoy a team environment, and can stand for long periods while lifting up to 50 lbs. Food Handler’s Card and RBS certification may be required by law, depending on state regulations.

Responsibilities

Founded by former NBA All Star Kevin Johnson and his wife, Michelle, Fixins’ menu is rooted in the Southern recipes passed down through generations from Kevin’s family and friends. Established in 2019 with the flagship store in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento, CA, Fixins is rapidly expanding. Position Summary

Fixins is looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Barback to support our bar team in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. As a Barback, you’ll play an essential role in keeping the bar organized, well-stocked, and running smoothly, ensuring our bartenders can focus on delivering excellent service. Responsibilities

• Restock glassware, liquor, garnishes, and ice to ensure bartenders have what they need throughout service.
• Prep and maintain bar production items including purees, juices and fruit garnishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar tops, equipment, and storage.
• Assist bartenders with inventory management and restocking supplies.
• Help deliver drinks and provide assistance to guests when needed.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Clean and organize the bar at the beginning and end of each shift.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume bar environment.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Previous experience as a Barback is a plus, but not required.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must have or be willing to obtain Food Handler’s Card and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification if required by law (Certifications differ per state).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Exposure to hot surfaces, kitchen equipment, and potential allergens.
