Job summary

Sidelines East Bar & Grill in Milmay, NJ seeks a motivated Barback to support bartenders and keep the bar stocked during peak hours.

The role offers hands-on exposure to hospitality operations, with duties from bottle restocking to garnishes, basic cleaning, and assisting the bartending team in a busy, friendly setting.

Qualifications

• Must meet minimum age to work in a NJ alcohol establishment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy bar environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs; prior bar/restaurant experience is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Barback duties during hours of operation: replace kegs and retrieve bottles, wash/restock glassware and tools, clean spills, remove trash, restock napkins, assist bartender as needed.
• Barback duties after closing: empty trash/recycling, clean used glasses, restock bottles, wipe bar/tabletops, wash shakers/blenders, mop floors.

Job Brief:

Sidelines East is looking for an energetic and motivated Barback to join our team in Milmay, NJ! This is a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door of the hospitality industry, work alongside experienced bartenders, and thrive in a fast-paced, fun environment. A barback has many responsibilities, but their overall purpose is to make sure that things are running smoothly at the bar. Their duties can include anything from replacing bottles to preparing garnishes, cleaning spills, and keeping bar stations stocked at all times.

Responsibilities:

Barback Duties During Hours of Operation:

• Replacing kegs and retrieving bottles from the walk-in cooler
• Washing and restocking glassware and mixing tools
• Cleaning spills at the bar and customers’ tables
• Removing trash and used glasses and wiping down tables for new customers
• Monitoring stations and restocking napkins, coasters, and straws
• Assisting the bartender with other tasks as needed

Barback Duties After Closing:

• Emptying trash and/or recycling bins
• Cleaning used glasses
• Restocking bottles
• Wiping down bar and tabletops
• Washing shakers, blenders, and other prep equipment
• Mopping the floors for business the next day

Requirements:
