Job summary

Main Street Hospitality in Hampton Bays, NY is seeking a Bar Back to support bartenders and keep the bar stocked and polished during busy shifts. This is a part-time, hourly position with a base pay of $11.00–$13.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include stocking, setup and breakdown, preps, inventory monitoring, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards to ensure a smooth, guest-focused service experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bar support role or hospitality environment preferred.
• Understanding of basic bar operations, safety, and sanitation practices.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Stock bar stations with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, glassware, garnishes, and other supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas throughout service.
• Replenish ice bins, empty trash, and restock kegs or bottled products as needed.
• Set up bar areas prior to service and assist with breakdown at the end of shifts.
• Assist bartenders with prep work, including juicing, cutting garnishes, and restocking condiments.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to bar management.
• Uphold Main Street Hospitality’s standards of safety, sanitation, and presentation.
• Support bartenders in maintaining a fast-paced, guest-focused service environment.
• Perform any additional relevant tasks requested by management.

Job Purpose:

The Bar Back is the unsung hero behind the bar’s success, ensuring bartenders have the support, supplies, and setup needed to deliver Main Street Hospitality’s signature level of polished, engaging service. This role is essential in sustaining the bar’s energy, efficiency, and readiness, ensuring every guest’s experience is effortless and exceptional.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Stock bar stations with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, glassware, garnishes, and other supplies.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Must be able to bend, reach, stoop , and perform repetitive tasks as required by daily operations.
• Ability to maintain composure and energy during long shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business levels demand.
