Job summary

Sexy Fish Miami is hiring a Bar Back to stock the bar with designated supplies, keep work areas clean, and support the bar team. You will ensure bartenders have what they need to serve guests and help maintain high standards and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include garnishing preparation, setup/breakdown with bartenders, and strict adherence to liquor regulations. A varied schedule including weekends is expected.

• Anticipate guests’ needs and acknowledge guests during busy shifts
• Maintain positive guest relations and cleanliness of assigned areas
• Know menu items, liquor brands, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic selections
• Abide by state liquor regulations and avoid service to minors or intoxicated persons
• Inspect Bar and service areas for cleanliness; rectify deficiencies
• Restock ice and replenish bar supplies
• Remove items from bar top; clean surfaces
• Secure all liquors and storage areas
• Wipe down bottles and surfaces; clean bar equipment
• Sweep and mop bar area floors
• Work varied shifts including early morning/evening/night/weekends
• Additional duties as assigned by management

Job Overview:

Stock bar with designated supplies, ensuring no shortages for guest service. Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment. Support the seamless running of the bar, by providing a highly efficient and effective service, ensuring standards are maintained and guest needs are anticipated. To establish and maintain good working relationships amongst the bar, and front of house team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To provide support to the entire bar team and act as the bartenders assistant
• Ensure all fridges and caddies are fully stocked, cleaned and up to the company standards.
• To make sure the bartenders have all the supplies needed to continually make drinks and assist guests.
• To prepare all garnishing’s for cocktails.
• To share responsibilities with bartenders to effectively set up and break down the bar at each shift.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests even during busy shifts.
• Always maintain positive guest relations.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic selections available.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
• Inspect cleanliness and condition of Bar and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
• Replenish supplies in Bars throughout shift.
• Restock ice.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of Bar and service areas.
• Transport soiled wares to dishwashing area.
• Extend courteous salutations when guests leave outlet and invite them to return.
• Clean and sanitize glassware in glass machine/three compartment sink.
• Ensure maximum usage of all supplies to attain budgeted beverage cost and to prevent waste.
• Properly store all reusable goods.
• Empty and drain ice bin.
• Remove all items from bar top and tables; place clean items in designated areas; wipe clean all surfaces of bar top and tables.
• Remove liquor and bottles from speed rail and liquor cabinet.
• Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets and storage areas.
• Wipe down all bottles and surfaces.
• Clean all bar equipment and tools.
• Sweep and mop floor behind Bar.
• Ability to work a varied schedule that may include early morning, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

• Ability to grasp, lift, move, or push goods.
• Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• Walk or remain in stationary position for 8 or more hours throughout work shift.
• Requires mobility. Sense of smell, taste, touch, and sound. Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
