Job summary

Claremont Resort & Club is seeking a guest-facing associate to uphold service standards in our Berkeley Bay Area dining environment. You will supervise servers, ensure proper setup, and assist with shift coverage while maintaining POS operations and guest satisfaction.

You should have a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move carts up to 150 pounds. Previous hotel/restaurant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor servers and busperson adherence to service standards.
  • Supervise service of guests and assist manager with coverage.
  • Read daily communication sheets and prepare the next shift sheet.
  • Maintain bank to HEI Hotels and Resorts standards.
  • Check floor plan for coverage and ensure restaurant cleanliness and setup.
  • Comply with liquor laws and state/federal requirements.
  • Communicate with restaurant manager about events and house counts.
  • Contribute to menu classes and taste panels; provide clear directions to staff.

Compensation

Salary Range: $26.45 - $26.45 Hourly

Tipped/Service Charge Eligible? No

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor servers and busperson adherence to all service standards. Supervise service of guests, being watchful of signals from guests in need of service. Assist manager to establish and monitor sidework duty completion. Maintain bank to HEI Hotels and Resorts standards. Read daily communication sheets from previous shift and prepare one for the following shift. Check floor plan for appropriate coverage. Check restaurant for cleanliness and set up. Check service stands and aisle areas. Check tables for cleanliness and proper set up. Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages. Communicate daily with restaurant manager with regard to special events, house counts, etc. Assist restaurant manager in conducting menu classes and taste panels. Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
