Job summary

Banquet Server role with Sodexo for events at CHASE CENTER ON THE RIVERFRONT. Part-time, with varying shifts and open availability preferred.

You will assist with banquet setup, service execution, and breakdown, delivering attentive guest experiences across buffet and plated service styles. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, hospitality experience, and alcohol-service certification where required.

Qualifications

• Banquet/catering/hospitality experience preferred.
• Must meet age requirements for alcohol service.
• Food handler certification may be required by state/local rules.
• TIPS or equivalent alcohol-service certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide food and beverage services at catered events (meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, functions).
• Support service styles from casual buffets to formal plated meals and passed service.
• Work under the Banquet Captain/Supervisor; assist with setup, service, and breakdown.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, stations, and work areas.
• Clear tables, reset settings, and maintain presentation standards.
• Lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Attend shifts on time and comply with venue requirements.

Education

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

Previous banquet, catering, food service, or hospitality experience

Minimum age to serve alcohol per regulations

Food handler certification (state/local)

Alcohol-service certification (TIPS or equivalent)

Workdays/shifts: Varying shifts, days/hours (open availability preferred). More details will be provided during the interview process.

Employment Type: Part-time

Pay Range: $17.50 per hour - $17.50 per hour

What You’ll Do:

As a Banquet Server at Sodexo, you will provide food and beverage services to guests attending catered events, including meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, and special functions. This role supports a variety of service styles ranging from casual buffets to formal plated meals and passed service. Banquet Servers play a key role in delivering a positive guest experience by providing attentive, professional, and timely service during events.

Banquet Servers work under the direction of the Banquet Captain and Banquet Supervisor and actively participate in event setup, service execution, and breakdown. Responsibilities may vary based on event size, service style, and business needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and work areas during events.
• Clear tables, reset place settings, and assist with maintaining presentation standards.
• Ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

What You Bring:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Previous banquet, catering, food service, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol based on local and state regulations.
• Must maintain a valid TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures, TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management), or equivalent alcohol-service certification, and comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements.
• A food handler certification may also be required based on state or local regulations.
