Job summary

Fitler Club in Philadelphia is seeking a Banquet Server to engage guests at catered events, taking orders, providing wine service, and replenishing beverages in line with our 1916 by Fitler Club service standards. You will set up tables, chairs, tabletops, and food stations, move catering equipment, and perform side work and cleanup, while maintaining health and safety guidelines.

Strong banquet or catering experience, positive attitude, ability to work under pressure, and teamwork are essential

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of banquet/catering server experience in a catering, hotel, or golf club environment.
• Positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and delicate china and glassware.
• Excellent customer service with knowledge of service, spirits, wine, and food.

Overview

The Banquet Server will interact one-on-one with guests at catered events. Food service will include taking guest orders, providing wine service, replenishing beverages utilizing 1916 by Ftler Club’s service standards, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Event execution will include the setup of tables, chairs, tabletops, reception areas, food stations, movement of catering equipment within the event venue, side work and clean-up duties.

Responsibilities

• Consistently following the Food and Beverage department's steps of service while utilizing proper procedures and standards
• Provide guests at catered events with exceptional service throughout all phases of their experience at 1916 while commanding full menu knowledge and preparation methods
• Maintain all equipment, tools, and supplies while following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department, and Philadelphia health department
• Work as a team and effectively communicate with management, bartenders, and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and/or other Team Members

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a banquet/catering server in a catering, hotel, or golf club environment
• Must possess a positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks
• Must be able to physically lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate china and glassware
• Excellent customer service skills with an in-depth knowledge of service, spirits, wine, and food
