Job summary

Zachry Hotels is seeking a Banquet Houseperson in San Antonio to support event setup, breakdown, and on-site operations in a full-service hotel. Responsibilities include preparing rooms per BEOs, moving equipment, and maintaining cleanliness before, during, and after events.

The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and teamwork with banquet and engineering staff. Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; plus preferred banquet or hospitality experience and Texas Food Handlers

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: banquet, event setup, hospitality, or facilities experience.
• Full-service hotel experience preferred.
• Experience handling equipment, furniture, or large-scale setups preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms per BEOs and diagrams (tables, chairs, linens, risers, staging, decor, AV).
• Ensure spaces are clean, organized, and prepared before guest arrival.
• Place linens, water service, stationery, and amenities for meetings or events.
• Handle large/heavy items safely (furniture, rolling equipment, storage).
• Respond to event-related requests from banquet staff and planners.
• Refresh rooms during events and adjust lighting/temperature as needed.
• Break down rooms after events and reset for new events per BEOs.
• Return equipment to inventory clean and in working condition.
• Operate and maintain event equipment safely; report damages promptly.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain hazard-free workspaces.
• Coordinate with Banquet Captains, Event Managers, servers, and Engineering.
• Communicate setup challenges or discrepancies immediately.
• Support the team with additional tasks during peak periods.
• Perform other duties to support banquet and hotel operations.
• Maintain reliable attendance as part of the role.
