Description

The BSA/AML department is dedicated to protecting the Bank from illicit activity related to money laundering and terrorist financing.

A BSA Quality Control (QC) Analyst is a BSA/AML industry expert with strong attention to detail who adheres to department policies, procedures and regulations. This role combines technical expertise while ensuring high-quality work, regulatory compliance, and consistent application of department policies and procedures.

Below is a list of essential functions of this position. Additional responsibilities may be assigned in the position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The role supports various processes covered by the BSA Policy, including anti-money laundering (AML)/countering the financing of terrorism (CFT), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance.
  • Responsible for conducting quality control activities on BSA alerts which include but are not limited to typologies in the AML, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), OFAC, and 314(a) workflows.
  • Responsible for conducting quality control activities on Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) and other monitoring as assigned.
  • Responsible for conducting quality control activities on AML, CTR Exemption, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and other cases.
  • Responsible for conducting quality control activities on Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR).
  • Provides clear and concise written and verbal feedback to the team members and assists with questions as necessary.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of applicable regulations including BSA/AML, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, FFIEC BSA/AML Examination Manual, and department policy and procedures.

POSITION LEVEL EXPECTATIONS

  • Support the design, maintenance, and execution of AML/BSA Quality Control (QC) Procedure

  • Specific BSA Quality Control Analyst II Responsibilities, additional to the above:
  • BSA AML Case activities
  • BSA SAR QC activities
  • Serving as a member of SAR review committee
  • Assisting with additional duties, including assignment management

  • Required: Minimum of 5 years of direct BSA/AML experience
  • Preferred: 1-2 years of prior BSA/AML quality control, or equivalent, experience
  • Preferred: CAMS or CFE certification, or equivalent

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

Ability to utilize telephone systems and possess good digital literacy including email, internet, and intranet use. Prior experience using BSA monitoring systems preferred but not required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve challenging problems involving several variables in a standardized situation.
