Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent client service in partnership with Private Bankers and support the Team Leader on strategic initiatives and lead generation.
  • Work with PBs to deliver sales and product experience, and support reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with CSOs to address client needs and ensure compliance with legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Support PBs via joint calls and coordinate with product specialists and transactions support.
  • Capture client information, maintain reports, and become proficient in Sales Force and related data delivery.
  • Facilitate account openings with onboarding teams and ensure proper documentation.
  • Maintain learning through internal/external courses and certifications.
  • Assess risk and uphold Citi's reputation through compliance and ethical standards.
  • Engage in client meetings and account reviews to understand requirements.

The Junior Banker is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Requires strong commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the UK Private Bank Cluster. Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent client service in partnership with the Private Bankers on the team and support the Team Leader in a wide range of strategic and leadership initiatives to contribute to the success of the collective team Provide innovative support in marketing strategies, specifically with regards to prospecting and generating and supporting leads
  • The role works closely with clients and Private Bankers in the relevant Banking Team to provide a high level of sales and product experience and support the banker in all aspects of reporting and regulatory requirements. Solid knowledge of bank products and regulatory requirements are critical.
  • Work in partnership with the PB team including CSOs to address financial needs and expectations of the client. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in line with the policies of the Citi Private Bank. Participate in client meetings and account reviews to understand the clients' requirements if needed
  • Provide direct and indirect sales support to the PBs through joint calls and work closely with product specialists and transactions support personnel to implement client decisions as well as ensuring after-sales follow-up
  • Understand how to execute transactions across the broad array of Citi products. Capture and maintain client information, Call Reports and Banker pipeline reporting. Become an expert at Sales Force and other data deliverables.
  • Work with client and PB and On-boarding team to facilitate a/c opening and liaise with client to ensure completion of mandatory documentation.
  • Maintain learning program through internal courses and external certifications.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency., Under the Certification Regime, Citi UK regulated entities (Citi entities) must ensure that employees working in certain roles categorised as specified significant harm functions (Certified Roles) are assessed as fit and proper to carry out their role.

Under the guidance provided by the FCA and PRA, firms should have regard to the following when assessing fitness and propriety:

  • Financial soundness
  • Competence and capability

In order to comply with the requirements of the Certification Regime, Citi entities must take reasonable care to ensure that an employee does not perform a Certified Role without first being certified as Fit and Proper. For this reason, you will be assessed for this role against the Fit and Proper requirements, as described above. This assessment will be carried out through extensive interviews, self-disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening check

  • Extensive and proven experience in Private Banking having covered the UHNW market / Extensive experience in working with and/or leading client teams and transactions / Demonstrated track record in relationship selling
  • Pro‑active, initiative and driven / Excellent communication skills, written and verbal / Excellent relationship building skills with clients and across hierarchical levels
  • Ideally qualified to IAD Level 4 or equivalent and up to date SPS
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
