Job summary

Regions Bank in Hoover, AL is seeking a Bank Operations Deposit Processing Specialist to support deposit processing, including check handling, exception processing and return items.

You will ensure accounts are maintained accurately, code deposits correctly, identify and resolve encoding errors, monitor for potential fraud, and uphold regulatory and cybersecurity requirements while supporting improvements across processes.

Qualifications

Job Description

At Regions, the Bank Operations Deposit Processing Specialist performs operational duties to support the processing of deposits including check processing, exception processing, and return item processing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance on all accounts

• Ensures that all deposits are coded and processed correctly

• Corrects and resolves any encoding errors

• Processes any return deposit items

• Acts as a first line of defense for fraud or suspicious transaction activities including escalating any suspicious transactions or closing the account

• Keeps up to date on all applicable government regulations and company policies

• Ensures compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices

This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
