Branches, a faith‑based nonprofit in South Florida, invites applications for a Bank On Fellow to lead the Bank On Miami‑Dade Coalition. You will build cross‑sector partnerships to expand access to safe, affordable banking.

You will coordinate coalition activities, align products with Bank On National Standards, and integrate banking access into Branches’ programs to strengthen financial inclusion.

As part of our commitment to advancing financial wellness, Branches has taken on a leadership role in progressing the Bank On coalition in Miami‑Dade and Broward counties. In alignment with our mission to help families build educational and financial assets, Branches is proud to serve as the convener and lead organization of the local Bank On coalition.

Through Bank On, we bring together banks and credit unions, community organizations, government agencies, and regulators to expand access to safe, affordable, and certified banking products. By integrating banking access into social services and financial wellness programs, we are helping unbanked and underbanked residents move toward long term financial stability.

This Fellowship role reflects Branches’ commitment to building brighter financial futures for individuals and families in South Florida, while contributing to the national Bank On network of best practices and innovation.

Position Overview

The Bank On Fellow will lead and grow the Bank On Miami‑ Dade Coalition initiative. The Fellow will build and manage cross‑sector partnerships with financial institutions, government agencies, community organizations, and regulators to expand access to safe, affordable banking for unbanked and underbanked residents. By coordinating coalition activities, aligning financial products with Bank On National Standards, and integrating banking access into existing programs, the Fellow will strengthen financial inclusion efforts and support Branches’ mission to empower families toward financial wellness.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Coalition management:

• Cultivate new and existing relationships with a wide range of partners, including government agencies, financial institutions, community organizations, and funders.
• Coordinate and enhance a vibrant multi‑sector coalition working towards the shared purpose of enhancing banking access in Miami‑Dade and Broward counties.
• Build momentum and sustain engagement of partners in the coalition.
• Design Bank On Coalition strategy, manage Bank On program budget, oversee Bank On team (as applicable). Track, analyze and report data about Bank On activities.
• Fundraise for the coalition.

Partnership Engagement:

• Lead and participate in conversations with key local stakeholders about partnership opportunities and alignment in Bank On goals.
• Introduce Bank On to local financial institutions to support the availability and growth of Bank On certified accounts.
• Communicate effectively in both large presentations and small, facilitated discussions
• Lead the Bank On messaging clearly on why access to safe, affordable banking matters
• Adapt messaging to different audiences (e.g. financial institutions, regulators, government agencies, service providers, etc.)

Coordination and Strategy:

• Use knowledge of community needs and existing systems to prioritize the most impactful direction of the Bank On coalition’s efforts.
• Identify and cultivate opportunities to incorporate banking access into existing programs.
• Lead meetings with service providers to better assess and develop local coalition initiatives.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with local funders and public funding source entities to seek ongoing public and private support to ensure the program remains financially sustainable.

Communications and Outreach:

• Serve as a resource to the community around banking and financial empowerment issues.
• Create an appropriate marketing and outreach strategy to reach unbanked local residents.
• Lead forums and manage external relationships to communicate the value and mission of the Bank On program.

National Engagement and the Fellowship Model:

• Work with the CFE Fund to inform the local Bank On program model and coordinate the Fellowship cohort initiative.
• Actively participate in Bank On Fellowship cohort and learning community opportunities.
• Assist in reporting to the CFE Fund on Fellowship activities and program progress.
• Contribute to peer learning across cities
• Some national and local travel

Key Measures of Success

• Establish and maintain an active multi‑sector Bank On Advisory Committee with regular participation from government, financial institutions, and community partners.
• Increase the number of active coalition partners year over year.
• Grow the number of financial institutions offering Bank On certified accounts in Miami‑Dade.
• Track increases in the number of unbanked/underbanked individuals opening certified accounts.
• Successfully integrate certified banking access into Branches programs; Financial Wellness coaching, MicroBusiness, Climb Higher.
• Document measurable improvements in participants’ financial stability linked to banking access (e.g., reduced reliance on alternative financial services).
• Provide timely and accurate reports to Branches leadership, funders, and the CFE Fund on coalition progress and outcomes.
• Demonstrate year‑over‑year improvements in coalition impact metrics (partners engaged, accounts opened, outreach reach).
• Actively participate in CFE Fund learning community activities and share best practices with the national Bank On network.
• Contribute to the visibility of Branches as a leader in financial inclusion at the local and national levels.

• Masters degree in Business, Social Science, Public Administration or a field directly related to the type of work performed preferred
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders (e.g., government, financial institutions, nonprofits, or community groups)

• Experience with coalition‑building or community engagement.
