Job summary

Chatham County Schools seeks a dedicated music teacher to inspire students through guitar, jazz ensemble, concert band, and percussion, while fostering listening across genres and styles.

Qualifications

Job description

NATURE OF WORK

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' understanding, appreciation of the art of music, including listening to a wide range of musical genre, periods and styles; teaching guitar, jazz ensemble, concert band, and percussion; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; developing lesson plans; modeling the necessary skills to performing assigned tasks; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

To identify, promote and develop each student's talents in vocal and instrumental musical expression.

Minimum Training And Experience

While a knowledge of all instruments are required, percussion or/& woodwinds are preferred.

Required to hold state certification in Music (license code 800) and designated as "highly qualified".
