The role requires following safety procedures and PPE while maintaining quality and accuracy in cutting operations. You'll set up equipment, verify dimensions with gauges, and collaborate with production teams daily to ensure on-time delivery and safe workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts and handcarts.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and PPE.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate power shear to cut metal objects to specified dimensions and angles.
• Positions and clamps guides to set length and angle of cut.
• Lifts workpiece manually or by hoist or crane.
• Starts machine which clamps workpiece and lowers blade to cut metal.
• Lays out cutting lines on metal, using rule, square, or template.
• Tilt bed, blade, or install fixtures to shear, bevel, or trim fabricated or raw material items.
• Operate portable shear to cut sheet metal, if applicable.
• Inspect work, using tape, compass, gauge, template, or micrometer to verify dimensions.
• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality and safety.
• Operate a powered industrial vehicle (forklift) to move materials between production areas.
• Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.
• All other duties as assigned.
